Preheat the air fryer by running it at 375 °Ffor 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. It works best using your hands. Make sure the meat and seasoning are all very well combined.
½ lb ground beef, 1 small onion, 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 garlic clove, ¼ cup breadcrumbs, ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 egg, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Form the burger mixture into 2 patties. Use your thumb to make a good-sized indentation in the center of each patty. This helps the burgers stay uniformly thick and flat during cooking.
Place the patties in the fry basket in a single layer. Set the temperature to 190 °F and cook 6 minutes.
Flip the burgers and cook another 2-8 minutes, as needed. If you like your burgers more well done, they'll need more time. 8 minutes in total may be all you need if you like your burgers rare to medium.
Notes
What to Do with Leftovers
These burgers are best eaten straight away, but they also make delicious leftovers.
Storing: Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Freezing: Freeze leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 months.
Reheating in the air fryer: Reheat at 400℉ (200℃) for 5-6 minutes, until heated through.
You can prep these burgers ahead of time, and just cook them up when you want to eat. You can make them up to 24 hours in advance. Just make the patties and store them covered in the fridge. Bring them out 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature.
