If you're anything like me, you love a good Richmond sausage. Whether it's pan-fried, cooked on the BBQ or in the oven, I can never resist! But what about cooking them in an air fryer, can you cook Richmond sausages from frozen in an air fryer? Here's the answer:

Yes, you can cook Richmond sausages from frozen in an air fryer and get the same mouth-watering taste you'd get if they were cooked in an oven or in a pan. This includes Richmond's thick, thin, skinless, BBQ and reduced-fat frozen sausages.

Why cook frozen Richmond sausages in an air fryer instead of an oven?

An air fryer cooks extremely fast. You can have perfectly cooked sausages in 10-12 minutes with an air fryer compared to the oven which can take up to 25 minutes depending on the thickness of the sausage.

Not only that, but it would cost you way less to cook frozen sausages in an air fryer than an oven because an air fryer uses less energy than an oven.

Why cook frozen Richmond sausages in an air fryer instead of a pan?

An air fryer doesn't need any oil to cook Richmond sausages from frozen. On the other hand, a pan requires some amount of oil to fry the sausages, which adds unwanted extra calories and fat.

An air fryer also beats a pan in terms of cleanup, if you use an air fryer silicone mat or parchment paper there is almost no cleanup required because you can just wipe down the mat or bin the parchment paper after cooking.

How to cook Richmond sausages from frozen

    1. Add a few sprays of cooking spray or olive oil to your fry basket. You can also use parchment paper or an air fryer silicone mat if you have either.
    2. Place 6-8 pieces of frozen Richmond sausages in your air fryer. Avoid overcrowding the basket or stacking them, the hot air needs to circulate properly to ensure all the sausages cook evenly.
    3. Set your air fryer temperature to 200°C/400°F and the timer to 10 minutes and let it cook.
    4. After 10 minutes, remove the fry basket and see if the sausages are cooked enough for your liking. If not, or you prefer slightly burnt sausages, add another 1-2 minutes and let it cook again.
